Phoenix Punjabi Golf Association is the brainchild of few individuals who always played golf together as a small group but had a vision to advance this fun loving activity amongst others within the Punjabi community. During one of the golfing events these individuals thought of extending this opportunity to all others who may have an interest in the game of golf, similar to the participants of their own group. During one of their out of town trips they decided to create the organization representing all Punjabi golfers in the state of Arizona. Everybody was excited and agreeable to the idea. Dr Jagwinder Sraow, from this group, took the initiative to create the organization and file the necessary paperwork with Arizona Corporate Commission. The organization was officially called PPGA (Phoenix Punjabi Golf Association).

The first meeting was held on January 21st, 2012 at Starfire Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona to discuss the idea and select club officers who would represent the organization moving forward. There was overwhelming support from all of the members present and Phoenix Punjabi Golf Association was born.

Since the inception of this organization the Executive committee and Board of Directors have taken this organization to the next level by raising funds for local charities through Annual Vaisakhi Open tournaments, promoting Golf within our community and youngsters, participating in various community services and extending the reach of this organization internationally through affiliations with other similar Punjabi Golf associations throughout the country.
